 Students will use the Crane House and Historic YWCA and Shultz House Museums’ artifacts, primary and secondary source documents from the archives, living history, and field trips to reconstruct the past and how it correlates to our present. In this course students will explore the industrial revolution of Montclair and New Jersey ranging from the 1780s to 1860s, reflecting on unique business owners, technological advancements, and unknown innovators during this time.The focus of the course is the use of primary and secondary sources to provide a deeper understanding of the events and movements in history. Students are expected to have a basic understanding of events and movements covered prior to this course. Full class description and field trips available online. The North Jersey Civil War Round Table will present its Fourteenth Annual Civil War Legal Presentation, this year’s topic The Impeachment of President Andrew Johnson. Three NJCWRT member attorneys, John C. Maloney, Jr., Esq., Thomas V. Hildner, Esq. and John J. Francis, Jr., Esq. will discuss the impeachment and the Constitution, President Johnson vs. Congress, and the subsequent impeachment by the House of Representatives and then trial by the Senate.

Ocean County - Brick - “Christmas in the Castle”: Day trip to Bucks County, PA.

NOVEMBER 29, 2018 ALL DAY “Christmas in the Castle” Brick Township Historical Society Day trip to Bucks County, PA. We will have a tour called “Christmas in the Castle” at the Glencairn Museum, and also, we will see the parts of the museum that the family resided in. We will visit Byers’ Choice and learn about the famous caroler dolls and observe production of them. In addition there will be an exhibit of over 200 mangers from around the world. A full luncheon buffet will be at the 1700’s Joseph Ambler Inn. Price is $85 for members and $90 for non-members, includes transportation, all admissions, luncheon and gratuities for wait staff and bus driver.
