In conjunction with the exhibit Changing Face/Changing Place on display now at the Trenton City Museum at Ellarslie in Cadwalader Park, Trenton, NJ, the Trenton Museum Society presents architectural historian Jennifer Leynes recounting the story of The Architects & Buildings of FVHD's First 50 Years. The exhibit celebrates the one hundredth anniversary of FVHD, a full service architectural design firm founded in Trenton by PL Fowler in 1918. The exhibit, displaying historical and architectural photographs, drawings and artifacts from the FVHD - Architects Planners firm's history is on view in the second floor galleries at the Trenton City Museum at Ellarslie in Cadwalader Park through January 11, 2019.

The talk will explore the firm’s first 50 years, which were guided by three principal architects: Percy L. Fowler, Albert E. Micklewright, and Samuel Mountford. Many of the firm’s most recognizable and noteworthy works will be highlighted, including Mercer Hospital and numerous area schools.

The firm's long history includes many original school buildings designed for Trenton, Lawrence and Ewing Township School Districts; the restoration of the 1719 William Trent house; the GM Fisher Body Plant; Mercer Hospital; and numerous others.

Jennifer B. Leynes is an architectural historian employed with the New Jersey Historic Preservation Office. She has a B.A. in history from Furman University and a Master of Historic Preservation degree from the University of Georgia.
